Latvia is a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia. Its landscape is marked by wide beaches as well as dense, sprawling forests. Latvia’s capital is Riga, home to notable wooden and art nouveau architecture, a vast Central Market and a medieval Old Town with St. Peter's Church. Riga's museums include the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, showcasing local crafts, food and music.

Kuldīga is a town in western Latvia. It is the center of Kuldīga Municipality with a population of approximately 13,500. Kuldīga was first mentioned in 1242. It joined the Hanseatic League in 1368.

Gauja National Park is in northeast Latvia. It's known for its many historical structures. Covering a large swath of the Gauja Valley, it surrounds the town of Cēsis and its 13th-century castle.

Cēsis Castle is a Livonian castle situated in Cēsis, Latvia. Its ruins are some of the most impressive castle ruins in the Baltic states.

Āraiši lake dwelling site is a popular tourist location with original and reconstructed remnants of Latvian prehistory.
